Hi,
Is there any software available which can amplify the output of my AC97 sound card so that i do not require external amplified speakers ?

Re: Amplifying Sound Card Output

The short answer is no. The chip itself contains no circuitry which can amplify the signal, so there is no way of amplifying the sound that way. The only way you could do it is to construct a small amplifier which would run off the PC's power supply, and mount the whole thing inside the case. In the long run, you may as well get some amplified speakers.

What, to turn it into a speaker amplifier???

I doubt it.... hehe.. If there was a way, it wouldn't be in software...

I don't get why you can't... You have louder songs.. and you have quiter songs... Couldn't you just boost everything up a few decibleessssesese using software?
