Drum machine software that is keyboard (pad) assignable?

Does anybody know of any PC drum machine software that actually acts like a real programmable drum machine? not just a step sequencer? where you can assign your wave samples to keys on the keyboard just like the pads on an Akai mpc etc. and tap out the patterns in real time but also change time signatures 8th notes, triplets etc? there has to be something out there that will do this?? any help is much appreciated TC
