been looking 4 months for a free program supports midi that i can load a midi file into {one that i took from the internet},...and tweek edit it...lower or raise the volume on the bass or drums or ect...mute that ugly melody channel...change tempo...slow or fast the speed...and SAVE the new midi...can you please show me if there is a free program that does just these easy things...thank you...jr

The type of program you are looking for is a MIDI Sequencer and you will find plenty of free ones on this site at http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/win95/MIDI_SEQUENCERS/

I used to use Jazz ++ quite a bit and was very happy with it.
