Hi, What I use is Griffin Technology's iMic. It is a USB device that plugs into the iBook via the USB end and uses standard RCA phono plugs that plug into any pre-amp, receiver, or integrated amp that can accept a turntable. Cost is about US $35. The program that comes with it is called "Final Vinyl" and is quite frustrating to use though any audio app that can convert analog to digital will work with the iMic. Good Luck, especially if you use Final Vinyl as it takes some experimentation to get it to perform correctly.
