I am 17. And I just discovered that I could not abandon singing and performing. Whenever I perform- I feel extremely into it and the burning fire just starts spiking on me inside---I just don't know how to express it. A month ago was when I felt this fire. The performance was canceled but I went up there and said that I wanted to sing and therefore should sing, and I SANG! I did not know how I did it!! I FELT EXTREMELY nervous, but I did it, and I COULD NEVER FORGET THAT FEELING EVER AGAIN. I had signed up to sing on more talent shows but I am having a severe problem. My whole family- parents AND relatives would not allow me to DO THIS! AND , for YEARS-- for god's sake, for YEARS, I have been trying to console myself from doing that because my family hated it. BUT I COULDN'T I weeped every single day, thinking of how leaving my dream would be like. I JUST COULDNT live the life they wanted me to live in - to be a scientist and I JUST COULD NOT DO THAT. I LOVE PERFORMING and my heart knows it. My friends know it. When others perform, I had to leave the living room to avoid my parents from seeing me crying and crying because it just burns--- burns soo much inside to see myself tied up and not doing anything for my passion-- to sing , to perform. I COULD NEVER FORGIVE MYSELF FOR THIS. AND I AM SERIOUS. How can I break through this FOR MY HEART? I know and believe, that singing , would do so much benefit for the society. I wanted help the people -- and inspire the world, to do what they want to do- because that is the only way to make the world a better place. AND I DONT KNOW WHY THE WORLD DOES NOT WANT TO BECOME BETTER- why its is preventing those who WANT TO DO IT, to stop.

.. ALL I WANTED TO ASK was, how can I START? How can I DO THIS? now, I am in Myanmar and soon, I will be leaving for universities in the US. AND I WANT TO DO SOMETHING FOR THIS WORLD. I FEEL SO USELESS DOING NOTHING that I BELIEVE SO MUCH IN. I DONT CARE -- I am talkative, alright. I just want to know -- how can I start this? what will be my first step when I get to university- TO DO THIS? PLEASE REPLY.

I want to become a singer.. everyone says i have an amazing voice & that i should do something with it.. i just don't know how to become one..

Hi there everyone! I have been singing in karaokes and in friends' events since I was 20, not to mention that I always dreamed of being discovered.. Not to become famous but I just always hoped to get a true opinion from a professional judge.. I am now 30 years old and I am wondering if it's too late to become a professional singer.. I know that normally people get discovered when they're in their 20's.. Is it too late for me?

What should I do? I never wrote a song.. where should I start?

i am very comfused atm i would love to be a singer but when i am 16 i can be put on with my mums friends agency to be a back up singer but i dont think i want to be a back up singer what should i do ?????? Confused

Hi there, my name is Caleb. I stumbled upon your forum topic on http://www.hitsquad.com/vocal/about2045.html and was instantly inspired by what you had to say to others. I am a singer. I always have been since I was little. My Dad is a singer as well. He's been singing lead for my church for about 11 years. I've always wanted to be a great singer, whether I'm known or not. My only issue is, I'm afraid. I'm afraid of getting up there. I'm afraid of getting my face out there, and choking on stage. I'm afraid of performing in front of people, even my own girlfriend. I don't know what people will think of me. I believe I have a talent. I would sing softly in front of my really good friends, only because we all wanted to start a band. That never happened. But all of my friends and family members say I have potential. But see, I can't ever tell if they're telling the truth or lying to me just to give me confidence. No family member or friend wants to bring their cousin, son, friend down... you know? They don't know how to provide constructive criticism.

Anyways, what I'm trying to ask you is... can you give me any advice? I've always had that dream in the back of my head of becoming a great singer some day. I've never actually tried to put that dream into reality. I'm 18 now, and I feel like I have many more open doors to finally pursue this dream of mine. I read in your post, you will not support people who want things handed to them. I can assure you I am not that type of person. I am someone who will work hard to achieve something. I am someone with dedication. I know I can do this, I just need some help from someone who has greater knowledge than I do in singing.

My Name is Kyle I am 15 Music & Singing is my passion, I have been interested in singing since I was like 5, I've practiced since I was 12 and within the last year or two have gotten a lot of compliments from friends and family, I like pop, but I am unsure how to write song lyrics and notes, also unsure where to learn, I am in Minneapolis, MN I know there is a universal Music Group about 20 minutes from me, Its a high goal but, I know I can do it!, What are your recommendations?

I want your thoughts about this, I was thinking of posting so covers on YouTube, and possibly after I get some views kinda say to pass these on to their friends, family, co workers, anyone they know then release some videos of previews of my song and then start selling Cd's, Sending to radio stations, doing some street performances, then try getting some gigs, then sending some stuff to a record company????

Would really appreciate your input!
