New from DUY: Magic Spectrum Mastering Tool
DUY has released the DUY Magic Spectrum mastering tool. Available for TDM, RTAS, Audio Units, VST and MAS/MOTU for Mac, DUY Magic Spectrum is a high-quality mastering tool that allows you to modify frequency contents in a flexible and precise manner. Any frequency content of any kind of audio material can be edited.
DUY Magic Spectrum's practical design includes a range of functions that
vary from a very basic spectrum Matching use to a total control over the
audio spectrum, with an impressive high resolution and an unprecedented
degree of quality.
How does DUY Magic Spectrum work?
The most basic utility that Magic Spectrum provides is the matching of
spectrums. For example: take a track you like the sound of, and "play
it" to Magic Spectrum. Then, take your track and analyse your sound.
Finally, apply the sound character of the song you like to your own
song, in whichever amount you like.
If you have no songs to use as a reference, you may also load any of the
many included presets, analyzed from some of the best recordings of all
time, or from specific-sounding masters.
Magic Spectrum can also be used as an EQ that emphasizes the results, or
you can even load 4 different responses and vectorially combine these
responses in the way you like, to add "more character" of one sound or
more of another.
The "Advanced" mode literally lets you manipulate the spectrum by
providing graphic edition tools that enable you to have direct access to
the spectrum of the song itself.
Who should use DUY Magic Spectrum?
Anyone wanting to make the spectrum of a song sound like another. For
example, if producer "A" has made a lovely recording of a song, you can
analyse the song and apply the "sound" to your track.
If you're adding a bonus track to an album, for example, and you'd like
to make the track not stand out sonically from the rest of the album,
use Magic Spectrum to re-master it and make it more "even" in comparison
to the other tracks in the album.
High quality for TDM, RTAS , AU, MAS & VST users
In the designing stage of Magic Spectrum, DUY has strived to develop and
ultimately achieve proprietary techniques and algorithms that have
enabled to treat the audio signal in a highly professional manner, with
internal 56-bit resolution, phase coherence, immediate-response
algorithms, in-depth statistical analysis and much more.
The design of DUY Magic Spectrum provides different edition levels: the
basic mode allows you to match frequencial contents, whereas the very
powerful advanced manual mode provides intelligent tools and plenty of
graphic information.
DUY Magic Spectrum is shipping now, and ships in 2 different versions:
DUY Magic Spectrum: native version for RTAS, AU, VST & MAS. DUY Magic
Spectrum PRO: is the TDM version.
What is the difference between the standard and the PRO version?
Magic Spectrum Pro for TDM provides basically the same functionality as
Magic Spectrum. However, as an added value, the PRO version adds even
higher precision in the frequency bands, allowing for breathtaking
accuracy in the edition and processing of each of the bands. Magic
Spectrum PRO's process takes place in the time domain, using DUY's
exclusive OFIR (Optimal Frequency Impulse Renderer) technology
algorithm, allowing to render audio with extremely complex equalizations
within TDM with zero-latency. The great advantage of the OFIR technology
is its great resolution and definition, preserving virtually no delay.
Magic Spectrum Pro for TDM is presented as a Mono process. For
multichannel applications, the plug-in is inserted as a "Multi-mono"
plug-in, with the "Link" button active within Pro Tools. Magic Spectrum
for AU, RTAS, VST and MAS processes the signal within the frequency
domain, using an evolution of the FFT algorithm that provides huge
quality to the processing, thanks to the inmensely high overlapping
rate. The algorithm is processed in an accelerated manner using the
vectorial unit of the processor, allowing for an extremely light load on
processors. Magic Spectrum for RTAS, Audio Units, VST and MAS is
presented as a Mono and Stereo process, except for VST, which is always
Stereo but allows Mono processing as well.
