DJ/Producer Kaskade and ILIO have joined forces to create an exclusive remix of Kaskade's hit "Soft Upon the Lips" off his The Calm album. Produced by Midihead, this remix showcases drums from ILIO's Ethno Techno S.A.G.E. Xpander, an expansion pack for Spectrasonics' Stylus RMX software. The remix may be downloaded for free from ILIO's website: www.ilio.com/features/kaskade
Traveling off the beaten path that has put Kaskade on the map as a prominent House producer, this remix is an epic twist on this ambient track. Currently Kaskade is gearing up to release his fourth album this September on Ultra Records.
The drum sounds for this remix were processed using the built-in effects and the Chaos Designer in Stylus RMX. Chaos Designer's Buzz and Random Pattern effect were used extensively, as well as delay effects to provide motion. The body of the track was filled in with drums and percussion from Stylus RMX's core library and the bonus section from the ILIO S.A.G.E. Xpanders.
The Ethno Techno S.A.G.E. Xpander was created by famed percussionist Bashiri Johnson, and produced by Eric Persing.
