SONiVOX MI (formerly Sonic Implants) announced the release of two new virtual musical instrument products designed to take full advantage of Creative Labs' new 24-bit SoundFont format. SONiVOX Symphonic Strings X-Fi and SONiVOX Symphonic Brass X-Fi represent the first commercially available 24-bit SoundFont banks available outside of Creative Labs capable of capitalizing on the new Sound Blaster X-FI 24-bit hardware for sample rendering.
Taken from the legendary Sonic Implants' Symphonic Collection by SONiVOX, the new 24-bit SoundFont banks are the latest in a long line of premier sound products that have made SONiVOX a household name in virtual instrument libraries. Now priced at $39.95 each, SONiVOX Symphonic Strings X-Fi and SONiVOX Symphonic Brass X-Fi not only offer higher fidelity samples, but scalable compatibility with older, 16-bit SoundFont synthesizers.
Since 1993, SONiVOX MI (formerly Sonic Implants) has provided leading composers in the film and television industries with the musical instruments they need to create of world-class audio content for top movie, music and television projects. While 16-bit SoundFont banks have been available from SONiVOX MI since 1997, SONiVOX Symphonic Strings X-Fi and SONiVOX Symphonic Brass X-Fi bring a taste of the 24-bit Symphonic Collection to millions of SoundFont users worldwide for the first time.
SONiVOX Symphonic Strings X-Fi and SONiVOX Symphonic Brass X-Fi are both compatible with 24-bit hardware acceleration on Creative's latest line of "X-Fi" branded PC sound cards. SoundFont capable software synthesizers found on the Mac platform and E-MU's Emulator X platform will render the new SoundFont banks at 16-bit quality, making these the most flexible SoundFont banks ever released.
"SoundFont technology has always provided one of the best price-to-performance ratios in the virtual instrument development arena," comments Kurt Heiden, SONiVOX MI Business Development Manager, "and this latest jump to 24-bit is sure to energize a whole new generation of both Creative and SONiVOX customers with its ability to deliver an unparalleled musical experience."
Creative Labs' Technology Evangelist Christopher Gamboa says, "Creative is proud to be working with developers like SONiVOX, who have chosen to showcase the 24-bit SoundFont technology available in the Sound Blaster X-Fi."
