BBC Radio 1's dance music helmsman, Pete Tong, will broadcast his world-famous Radio 1 show live from the ADE at 7pm-9pm (UK time) on Friday October 20th from the Panama Club in Amsterdam.
Pete Tong's Radio 1 show will feature some exclusive interviews and guest mixes from talent to be announced over the forthcoming weeks. The show will be in front of a small audience of specially invited local guests and competition winners at the Panama Club. Pete's Radio 1 show will act as warm-up to the ADE club night at Panama later that evening featuring Pete Tong, Danny Howells and Nick Warren.
Pete said "I really like what the ADE is doing...all the different club sounds, DJs and nights buzzing around the corner from each other. Holland has given rise to some of the best known DJs and producers in the world and has made a big contribution to electronic music and club culture. We're just finalising the details now and I can't wait to broadcast my Radio 1 show from there." .
The UK's leading dance music ambassador Pete Tong heads up the Brit invasion of the ADE this year, with both his live Radio 1 broadcast and as a main speaker on one of the many daytime panels about the evolution of dance music culture.
Amsterdam Dance Event is the world's biggest club festival with over 475 DJs/acts in 40 clubs. The ADE has continued to rise as a name on the international electronic music calendar. The edition of 2006 expects well over 55.000 visitors, of which 20.00 from outside the Netherlands.
