I just purchased a Roland Fantom-X keyboard synth, and I will be purchasing a Roland MC-808 sampling groovebox soon along with a Yamaha AW1600 hard disk recorder.
I want to know exactly which instrument cables should I use for the equipment that I mentioned above? I will be purchasing the Monster Cable brand...but Monster makes several different types of instrument cables, and I don't know which ones to use. It's to my understanding that instrument cables are "TS" cables...and the AW1600 has "TRS" cable inputs. So will a TS cable be able to be plugged into a TRS input? I'm really confused about this. So exactly which instrument cables should I use for my type of equipment? |

Actually they are commonly referred to as 1/4" guitar cables:)
The "trs", if you were not aware, refers to stereo "Tip Ring Sleeve" 1/4"(inch) cable . a "ts" would be a "Tip Sleeve" or a standard mono guitar 1/4" cable.
Personally every 1/4 inch cable I make or purchase is TRS(stereo), but that's just me.
Prolly a few of those, TRS or TS, and some midi cables should get ya going... |

I tend to use Mono 1/4" cables by either Pirahna or Monster Cables, they both come relatively cheaply, very high output with low noise etc.   |
