Before I go and spend my money, will this combination work?

Tapco by Mackie J800 power amp - 300W/4 Ohm, 2 x 205W/8 Ohm, 2 x 480W/2 Ohm, 1 x 800W/4 Ohm bridge - running 2 x
160W (RMS) floor monitors per channel (in series).

Please don't get too technical. I just need to know if this will work or will it distort, lose signal on the second monitor etc.

Thanks.

Assuming that your floor monitors are rated at 8 ohms each, running them in series would give 16 ohms which is too great a load for this amp to run efficiently. It shouldn't harm the amp but it would reduce the output to about 100W per channel. Ideally you would need to run your monitors in parrallel, thus giving you a 4 ohm load that is suited to the amp for an output level of 300W per channel.
