| I use a few early hardware sequencers in two private schools where I run the music elective part time programs as artist in residence. The hardware units are quick and agile. It is strictly classroom backing tracks for lessons which we don't even save to disk after the session. I remember when I first bought a MC50MkII I inadvertently activated a feature that I've never been able to find again. It gave a real time reading of note on velocity in. It came about because I was in a battle with Yamaha about their "improved" velocity range of the DX7II. The Yamaha technician tested the new model and with a brick in his hand could barely get the unit to ring the 118 bell! I purchased an anatek velocity curve which has a setting to increase the range and that solved the problem. Still , is anyone aware of the MC50 or II and has found that feature of real time velocity input readout? Thanks, John Poole, Ardmore PA (outside Philadelphia) |
