Audio books purchased from iTunes are in .M4B format which can only be played on iPod. If you want to play the book on your MP3 or MP4 player, you need to convert the M4B audio books to MP3 format. NoteCable is a program using virtual recorder to record the audio book and then convert it to mp3 format. It is not necessary to have a duplex sound card when you use NoteCabke to record. You can simply install this program and then add the audio files you want to converter and then start to convert. You can play other music when you use NoteCable to record.

Step One

Run the program and click the Add button to add M4B files:

Step Two

Click the Settings button to choose the output format of the audio book. You can choose MP3, WAV and WMA as the output format. Then output folder and output structure can also be set here.

Step Three

After you select all settings for output file, simply click the Convert button to start the conversion. Remember to check the box before all files you want to convert, and the program will convert all checked files one by one.

Step Four

After all music is converted, you can right-click within the main window of NoteCable to choose Open Output Folder. Then the folder containing all converted files is open and you can transfer them to your MP3 player easily.

Tips

--NoteCable does not bypass anything. If you don’t have the license to the protected music, you can’t convert it with NoteCable.

--NoteCable is not compatible with Mac OS. It can only be run on Windows XP and Vista.

--The demo version of the program is available on http://www.notecable.com. With the demo version, you can convert 3 minutes of each music file.
