Can anyone tell me if there is an improved replacement for the MS GS wavetable sw synth - like under Control Panel / Sounds and Audio Devices / Midi music playback
I have some apps that are using the MS wavetable and I want to use VST instruments since they sound way better
Don't mind reading bout it if you give me a link
THANKS!!! |

Most pro sound cards do not have built in hardware synthesizers so you have to use a 3rd party Software Synth (SW Synth).
A few examples of 3rd party SW Synth:
i. Halion
ii. Kontakt
iii.Project 5

I was able to get the above links by googling "MS GS wavetable sw synth"
Hope this helps, |

The one I use (and have done for many years) Is "Wingroove"
http://www.cc.rim.or.jp/~hiroki/english
It's Shareware but worth every penny.
You can load it as a system driver so it is available to all your programs as a device.
It was written and designed for a Pentium 1 so it will work perfectly on just about any PC that actually boots up!!
Give it a try - you will be amazed.
