I recently started working with a program called "harmony assistant" to put together some tracks. My biggest concern now is being able to record vocals to the tracks once the tracks are done. Does anyone have any ideas or programs that I can do this with and what I will need???

What do you have now?

Where could I get a look at this "harmony assistant?"

good looking out, both of you. I'm just using that program to make the music but is almost certain that I'll need another program for recording. I can record on harmony assistant but I don't think the quality would be that good. I don't know if I should be looking for a program that I can make music and record all together. But I know with that program I can convert the tracks to mp3, wav, etc, format once the're completed.

so you need audio recording software? i didn't understand that harmony assisstant crap(please don't try to explain:).

http://audacity.sourceforge.net has a free recording thing, I tell people about it all the time but have never used it:)

another is called krystal audio engine , i believe.

both free so you get what you pay for.

Thanks. I'll check it out.

I felt the same way about Harmony Assistant when I first came across it, then it became much easier to use. If you every change your mind about it, I'll be glad to explain.

You might like to try Quickstart Digital Recorder
http://www.iddincusa.com/idd/StoreModules/ProductDetails.aspx?ProductID=619

It's relatively inexpensive, and you can record up to eight tracks, then save as a WAV or MP3 file. I use it and I like it.

My original songs and compositions--a mixture of folk/pop/galactic/faerie/spiritual songs.

I don't have a lot of singing on these because of lack of webspace; it's easier to use midi for them

No disrespect, but I wouldn't spend 29.95 on a sight unseen product when there are two very good products available that will do audio recording at a higher level.

The www.iddincusa.com website seems hacked together with important pages unavailable (404). To be fair, I tried to make a purchase and could not get this specific product. wtf ?

Can't be me can it?
