My husbands band just did a demo, I know there are all kinds of software that will add harmony, and stuff, but that is all I know. I would love to be able to make the recording extra cool for them, I know there are some "distortions?" just because I heard hubby say it. What free software could do this. I have the songs on my computer as mp3 and I have media player, and nero, and windows xp. I would just like to hand him the CD and see his face when it sounds fabulous, not that it is bad now, but I just would like to do this for him. Remember I do not have any experience with this, but am will to learn

Thanks so much,
Rita

In order for this action to happen you will need to have access to the master tracks. The master tracks are the individual and separete tracks that were recorded by the husband and band.

This type of action will not be achieved with any sonic success using mp3's and anything really.

What you are talking about doing requires skill using specific software tools by a person or persons involved in the audio recording field.

I am NOT saying it cannot be done OR that you cannot do it. Far from it. If you really want to do this thing then you will be able to have moderate success.

I would get the husband AND the band involved, get the master tracks and work it out together.

People, artists in particular, are funny about sonic changes in work that they identify themselves as being part of.

Free it's not easy to find, but try to download a trial version for Cool Edit 2000 and read the help file (diminuated Noise, Hiss, etc)
On another hand the distorsions appear when the volume recording it's to high. Try to recording again (just intrument or voice with this issue)
Good Luck

Ran yer IP job: 18.0.2.24
Thats an M.I.T. ip....yer not that smart. Maybe I should email my good buddy Jeff/@/mit/./org and compare notes.

I deal with cats like you all the time...I would rather kick you in the seat of the pants, but my time here @hitsquad is governed by a few guide lines. So I follow those, unless someone needs kicking like that yahoo that was running a scam on kids, some older guy trying to act like a young girl. That shit is not right and I have no remorse.

But I realise you, job, have no responsibility to this site so you are free to do as you see fit.

No worries. You just behave, we can consider you an alter-ego with more freedom to say whatever it is that you like.

Somewhere down the line, you will most likely disappear.

But thanks for noticing;)
