Hi everyone, I bought a Master series 7P as a secondary keyboard to function with a Yamaha Tyros, and for about 15 minutes when I got it home it worked perfectly. That was untill the Enter/Save/Clear button stopped working. I have had the board out, and the button switch is functioning but I am asking if anyone has any knowledge about the circuit layout on the board, as it is really messing with my head now:roll:. I could also really use a manual if someone would be willing to e-mail me a copy (Presuming I fix the board fault Wink)

Oh and by the way sobxdiver, to answer your question the master series 7P has no speakers or headphone socket as you probably have noticed, this is because this keyboard operates entirely through a system called MIDI or Musical Instrument Digital Interface. Basically, when you press a key the keyboard creates a signal. This signal is then sent to either another MIDI compatible keyboard (one capable of stand alone operation, like the ones you see in the high street) or in more specialised cases to a designated MIDI controller, possibly through a PC if you want to record.

Its a bit of a tough one if you dont have another MIDI keyboard or instrument to play it with, but my advice is if you want to play it as a piano, find yourself a cheap midi compatible keyboard and a midi cable and connect them up. The quality of the sound will be influenced heavily by the quality of the machine that it is operating through. Old Roland and Yamaha machines can be found fairly cheap on ebay and will produce a surprisingly rich sound, compared to a cheap new machine.

Hope this helps.

John.

Hi Big Johnny, is there MIDI speakers that can be used on the 7p, if so what ones and if not what keyboard do i have to use to make it play sound??

hi

i am looking to get hold of a copy of the 7P manual as i am fixing mine, i am getting a COLD error message on the LED, could anyone : send it to me at

jamus11@btinternet.com

would be extremely helpful

thanks for reading

When you get a message that says "COLD", it means that the internal memory battery has lost it's charge. Simply hit the enter key when you turn the keyboard on and it will clear this message, but it will clear any program data that may have been saved there. Several hours on the plug should fix this message. I do also have a copy of a link where you can find the manual- I'll send it along.

Hope this helps!

Say, while we're on the subject of 7ps, does anyone know how to set the tempo for the arpeggiator? The manual I have seems to be missing that page...

Hi. I also have just acquired a cheetah master series keyboard and I am hoping that someone here might be able to forward me a copy of the manual. I can figure out the basics but clearly it has a lot of features and a convoluted method of operation.
thanks
