|

I am a vocal coach and I do a lot of midi arrangements for my students. If I don't know the song a singer wants to sing, I am sent a recording of it and I do what we call a take-down. I listen and write down the chord changes as I hear the song played.
What I want to know is:
Is there a software program in existence that can recognize chord changes on an audio track? [OR]
Is anyone developing such a program?
It sure would save me hours of tedious work.
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.
Sincerely,

| If you consider your ears as software, then yes it does exist! A qualified musician with basic theory should be able to take a song apart and establish the key, tempo and chord progression with little trouble. Especially with songs designed for popular radio. |

| I've recently come across such an application in Android market. It was called something like "Any song chord recognition". It is definitely worth a try. |

| AnySong Chord Recognition is indeed a handy Android app for learning the chords of songs. You can find out more information about this app here. |
