Here is the deal, I am starting a promotion and management company in California and I am looking for 3-5 singers. This is not a joke and you must be serious about your singing carrier. I will be holding a competition over the next few months in the Northern California area. Because I don’t have time to deal with people who don’t take singing seriously, there is a $100 audition fee, so make sure you have your things together during the audition.
Those who are chosen will be signed and given the opportunity to perform in front of thousands of people. This is a guarantee; why? Because I will be putting together 2 concerts with the head liners being stars like Ne-yo, Leona Lewis, Alicia Keys, etc. The singers that I signed will be the ones to open at the concerts. However, you will sing at 3 events before the big concert to give you experience and work on your act. |

Two very old but very true sayings.
There's one born every minute.
If it sounds too good to be true it usually is.
Don't get sucked in by this one. |

Without an audition fee I would waste a lot of time on people who can't sing and I do not have that kind of time to waste. We already put some concerts together and once everything is set up, you will be able to see some of the events that we have put together (the auditions are not officially going on yet.)
@Terry
Don't speak against something that you know nothing about. I understand that people should always use caution when making decisions, however, calling this oppertunity a scam is a false claim without any evidence to back it up.
Try asking more questions before tagging a tittle on something. |

The fact that you've posted this topic with very limited information about who you exactly are, there's no website and there's contact information, plus the promise of opening for such established singers as Ne-yo, Leona Lewis, Alicia Keys, etc. This would make the alarm bells go off in anybody's head!!
Also the $100 audition fee isnt going to stop people from wasting your time, its going to stop people from auditioning because most people will see it as a rip-off! |

1) As I said, the auditions have not started yet. This is just to let people know ahead of time. All of the info, the website, newspaper articles, etc will be produced before and durring the times of audition. No money will be taken and no auditions will be had before all of the information is given.
2) The ONLY reason why I can make the promise that I did is because I will be the person putting the concert together. This means that I will be the person who picks the singers that will open.
3) As I said before, ask questions before saying something is a rip-off. When you go over the papers that I will provide anyone who would like to try out, you will see that the big concert will not be your first performance (if you are one of the people picked). There is a process that must take place.
Even if you can sing, it may take time to get your act together. If you do not have songs already, we will have to find a good song for your voice, record it, and see how it is recieved. Those who already have their things together will be able to perform earlier. The first few concerts (3-5) will be used to get you use to singing in front of a lot of people and will help you gain some experiance before opening up for major artist like Ne-yo and so on.
4) Agents, Managers, Parents, Lawyers, and anyone that you trust are allowed to look over all of the papers that you are given and expected to read before the audition.
5) I am fine with those who do not audition because of the fee. It isn't going to hurt me, however, I still wish them the best.
Do not be fooled, this is a great oppertunity; however, it isn't going to be easy. There is a lot of hard work that will be done. I am not giving anyone the promise that I will make them a star; that is up to them. I am just placing them in situations to get their name out to thousands of people and a few known artist. It is up to the singers that win to blow people away. |
