So I'm a simple songwriter: Pen, pad and my acoustic. So I have iRig for my electric for practicing with my tele and AmpliTube but IK just released a new iRig Mic for my iPhone. Just ordered it today since they're finally shipping, anyone else think this is going to be a solid little demo studio? They have VocaLive Free for it with a 1 track recorder. I really think thats all I'll need just me singing playing acoustic and if I need I can upgrade to the 4 track but I doubt I'll need that. It'll just be for demos and I want it to be portable. Any thoughts?

I agree that it's a good little demo set up.
However I think it will be even better with iPad 2 now that you can run Garage Band on it - it even has basic guitar amp emulators as well. |

Ya garageband looks great but the only thing is AmpliTube guitar amps sound way better. I did hear that you can run AmpliTube in the background at the same time though so you can hear both apps amps at once. But AmpliTube Fender is legit and approved by Fender so I still want to use that. I hope the mic gets here quick I hate waiting! |

I'm using AmpliTube on my iPad. It has 8 tracks for recording, just like GarageBand. I got GarageBand too, but I haven't used it for tracking because you can't import to it. So I make a drum track and maybe a bass line, and export that, then I bring it into AmpliTube for recording guitars.
The iRig Mic is out just in time. I was looking for a way to record acoustic guitar and vocals to my songs. Now I'll get one of these. Thanks Gabe! |

I got it in and it sounds awesome! Super clean, very detailed and WAY better than the built in mic! Happy with it! |
