I am trying to transfer my old software onto a more updated computer on which I do not have any floppy drives. I have transferred to software into folders on my desktop. Is there any way I can run the system from a USB port? I am having problems with the old DOS software recognising the port I am plugged into using a USB adapter. I am not that technical minded so please if anyone can help me in plain english I would really appreciate it.

The way I understand it, you want to transfer an old file from one computer to a new computer.

If you have a flash drive or a USB hard drive, you can use that to transfer and back up your important files. Just connect it to the old computer, hopefully it detects it, then copy the software or files you want into the Flash drive. Then you have to disconnect the flash drive and connect it to the new computer. One's plugged in and detected, you can then copy the old files from the flash drive into your new computer's desktop or any folder you prefer.

Hope that helps.
