Well, we are back..... sort of, since we never really left... kind of.
Ok were at it again is more precise.
We have just revamped the entire Official DJX Users Group website for those with Yamaha DJX Keyboard and turnable Box.
The Official DJX Users Group is still now located at: http://page.freett.com/newfriends/
However, there is something new too. We have just opened up a brand new user forums on our own host and with our own board license as well as a brand new name. (Yamaha DJX Users)
This new forum has all the past topics but adds a whole new set of features including a download area where we will host those difficult to find Yamaha DJX 1 and DJX 2 computer softwares and definition files for Cakewalk, Cubase, etc.
DJX-1 Users can get happy too. We are once again offering our one and only Yamaha DJX 1 Bulk Send software. It is one of the only independant bulk send software that can correctly communicate between your Yamaha DJX 1 and a windows based computer.
The new forums (available to all musicians) is located at http:www.yamaha-djx-users.com |

Hi,
I have recently picked up an old DJX and it is pretty cool.
Can you tell me the name of the software that you mentioned "our one and only Yamaha DJX 1 Bulk Send software. It is one of the only independant bulk send software that can correctly communicate between your Yamaha DJX 1 and a windows based computer."
And better still you might be able to tell me where it is still available.
thanks. |

Hey, hows it going? I came across a thread you posted to about wanting some bulk send app for your DJX. I remember when I had to say goodbye to a song I recorded on my DJX. It stinks that there is no way to output the data to MIDI.
Anywho, specifically, I have a question. I know I may seem dense, but I am having a hard time determining whether or not this low-end keyboard from 1999 has multiple samples per different velocities. The price of this low-end keyboard tells me that each voice is only one sample (at different pitches of course), and that the different velocities simply make that same sound increase or decrease in volume. But i swear, sometimes it seems like a softer pressing of the key emits a unique sound compared to a harder pressing.
What do you think?
Hows your DJX holding up?
I hope to hear back from you! DJX users are hard to come by nowadays! |

Hi there.... have just dug my old DJX 1 out of the loft ... forgot how good it is.
I'm working on a little bit of software help with getting samples in and out of the DJX allowing editing of loop points, bit depth, sample rate etc to be edited on a computer. Still very very buggy but have managed to get my old DJX to sound just like a mellotron with the old "3 violin" sound.
If there is anyone out there interested then let me know.... |

Greetings,
This is who started this topic quite a long time ago. (formerly known as dj_white_rice - founder of the Official DJX Users Group many years ago.
The original "Official Djx Users Group" which hasn't been updated for a number of years and currently is hosted in Japan, believe it or not still exists, though a buggy script redirects to a different website.
Anyways, I don't know how many people are still interested in the Yamaha DJX, and finding information about it is harder than ever.
So I have a website being launched in 2012 for the DJX.
It will host all the original technical information that was/is on the old website.
I will also, try to find some place to upload the original software that pretty much has only ever been available from my website, for the DJX-1.
I personally do not own a DJX anylonger, so I will be unable to give any advice on what current windows os I might work on still.
I will also try to archive some of the DJX technical information still available in archives of websites that no longer exist.
The following website is where it will begin in 2012. (Since it is on a free webhost, the website location may move. I am using free services for everything.)
Sincerely,
Randy (formerly known as dj_white_rice)
