First post. I have a little music and tech background but might as well assume I know nuthin, so here are my questions.
I like the sound of pedal steel, especially in lush compositions involving string sections and acoustic strummed guitar and electric bass. I want to make songs long these lines on my PC. I need help. I will definitely have Sibelius 7 soon and possibly also RealGuitar with a simple keyboard.
1) what else do I need? ie special sound card?
2) how do I get an authentic pedal steel sound that is very controllable, meaning something I can determine the notes of and the slides? I saw something called Nashville Wire Pedal Steel (loops or samples I think), but not sure if this would fill my expectations.
3) can Sibelius import and incorporate whatever pedal steel voice I find or do I have to get into a mixing scenario using more software?
Need lots of advice.
Thanks. |
