|
|
Hi Forum
Anyone any idea how I can mixdown tracks I have recorded in 24 bit to CD? At the moment I seem to be only able to burn at 16bit. What are your suggestions for getting true 24 bit mixes to CD?
I'm using the old Cubase VST V4 and the Mastering Unit
Cheers for any responses

Well unfortunately CD Red Book audio IS 16bit - DVD quality audio would be in a 24 bit format....if you've recorded in a 24 bit medium, before burning to CD you'll have to resample the mix back to 44.1khz (24 bit is 48khz) so that it is CD capable.
One drawback is that you will lose just a bit of generation quality, but not so much as to seriously debilitate your work. You should still have a crisper mix than if you recorded in at 16 bit/44.1khz....
Hope this info helps... |

actually you can store 24bit 96khz wave files on cd - you just burn it as a data disc
you'll only be able to listen to the cd in computers or other devices that play the type of files you saved - eg Cubase |
