You can try using a vocal removing program... but the results probably wont be that good.

by far, the best soft for this is made by a small developer with the name something like "Elevata". Spelling is wrong I know, I did a google and couldn't spend enough time on it, but you will find it.
It uses a graphic interface and works by far, better than any other I have ever tried. Cost is around $20 US, great value.
They make other softs in the genre and all are very reasonable priced, hope you find it. |

| There is no way to remove the vocals 100% successfully. The vocal frequency that are similar to music frequency will get mixed with music as one, that cannot be removed. But frequencies that are in different ranges can be seperated. I found FlexiMusic Wave Editor in which you can use Band Pass/Stop Filter. It may help. http://www.fleximusic.com/support/edit05.htm |

actually it's not done using frequencies - most vocal removal processes rely on the fact that vocals are usually panned dead center in a stereo mix so they take one side of stereo, invert it's phaze, then recombine both sides of stereo into a mono mix - wave cancellation then removes anything panned to the center - this can cause bass and some drums to drop out too |

That is correct. Also, these days the vast majority of vocal tracks have a stereo reverb added, so there will usually be remnants of that reverb track left after this process. So if you need the vocal to be COMPLETELY removed, and don't want to lose the bass and usually the kick drum and most of the snare, you will have to consider other options. Really the only way to get a good clean backing track if you don't have the original master is to get it re-recorded. If you made the original recording, it shouldn't be too much of a problem to get it toether again for another session. Unfortunate perhaps, but that is really your only option.
Remember, if a song is good, it will be recorded many times by many different people. If you own the rights to that song, it will be worth it to record it again.
