View Original Thread: Orpheus web-based music composer enters beta stage

Press Release

Steeprock Media has announced the beta launch of Orpheus, a web-based, virtual composer that allows media producers to instantly create unique music cues tailored to the specific needs of their projects.

Orpheus streamlines the process of adapting music to exact specifications while maintaining the low cost and ease of use of a traditional music library. The system maximizes the presentational impact of both foreground music and underscoring, which enhances project quality without increasing budget demands.

Orpheus generates music “made-to-order." It allows users to set exact cue lengths up to ten minutes, choose their own instrumentation, add ambiance effects, and place custom “hits.” Once satisfied with the sound and feel of their cues, users can immediately download free, high-resolution previews to audition for their clients.

“Multimedia producers are constantly faced with the daunting task of supplying their clients effective music tracks with limited budgets and tight deadlines,” says Dr. Greg Wilder, president of Steeprock Media, Inc. and creator of Orpheus. “Orpheus exists to bridge the gap between static production libraries and costly customized solutions.”

Orpheus-created cues range in price from $49 to $99, with pre-assembled versions available for as little as $19, and all come with a royalty-free, buy-out license.

June marks the beta launch of this service and all its features, with access to the full music library scheduled for September 1, 2006.
