Our schools often don’t have enough money to invest in modern hardware and software. Ashampoo aMan thinks this is terrible and he’s decided to do something about it. And so he’s going to give away free school licenses for Ashampoo Burning Studio, a user-friendly program for burning data to CDs, DVDs and Blu-ray discs. The licenses make it possible for teachers and all their students to use the program free of charge on all the school’s computers.
The computer rooms of today’s schools may be equipped with quite modern machines but in the classrooms one generally only finds hand-me-downs that are already years out of date. In fact, most German schools actually consider themselves lucky if their computer equipment comes up to even these low standards. Usually, there is not so much as a single cent left over to invest in new software – the pupils have to make do with whatever came with the computers.
That’s not good enough, say the managers and staff of the software company Ashampoo in Oldenburg. “We all need to invest more in the education of our children,” says Ashampoo CEO Rolf Hilchner. “We heard that important data often get lost because schools don’t have user-friendly burning software, and so we have decided to take some positive action to change this situation.”
And so the entire staff of the company forgets about sales for a while when aMan, Ashampoo’s very own friendly superhero, sets out once again to serve the community. a-Man is now distributing full school licenses for the Ashampoo Burning Studio 6 package. “Ashampoo Burning Studio 6 is a really modern program,” explains a-Man. “It’s very easy to use and can be used for everything from simple to complex data burning projects. I think teachers and their students need a really good burning suite for backing up their valuable data, and this is it.”
What can the program do?
Ashampoo Burning Studio 6 includes a complete suite of tools for burning all kinds of CDs and DVDs. It can:
- Burn files and folders to data CDs, DVDs and Blu-ray discs
- Create multi-disc backups, storing the files to be saved on a series of CDs or DVDs
- Burn music files (WAV, MP3, FLAC, WMA, OGG) to audio CDs
- Burn MP3 files to MP3 CDs
- Rip (extract) music tracks from audio CDs and save them in WAV or WMA formats
- Burn video CDs, super video CDs and video DVDs
- Write image files to CDs, DVDs or Blu-ray discs
- Create 1:1 copies of all formats
- Compare and verify the contents of the burned disc after every burn operation
- Delete CD-RWs, DVD+RWs, DVD-RWs, DVD-RAM and BD-REs
- Supports over 1,700 CD, DVD Blu-ray burners

The file shows aMan in action in a hand-drawn comic strip in which the superhero is giving away the program to a school class. The form for requesting your school license is at the bottom of the page. Just print the form out, enter your school’s details and fax it to Ashampoo. The free license will then be sent to your school directly.
