View Original Thread: Need software that can play music on different tracks

XXX

Hi! I am looking for a software that can play music on different tracks, for example, 8 tracks, one for drum, one for guitar and so on, for one song.

I am not looking for a recording software, when you record the instrument on different tracks then mix them up.

I am looking for a software that can play them on different tracks after they mixed, such as music from CD.

In that way, you can learn a lot from your favorite bands how they arrange music, I just wonder if there is software available or it is impossible to do that at the moment. Even hardware is ok.

Are you talking about mixing up the order of the songs?

You cannot separate tracks after they are mixed.
They are recorded in multi track format then mixed
down to stereo so you finish up with two tracks - L+R.
The only way to "bring out" particular instruments is by
using a graphic equaliser to boost the frequency range
of the different instruments.
I would suggest a minimum of a 10 band a side equaliser
but the more bands the better.
The only other alternative I can suggest is to listen closely
to the recording, specifically the instrument you are interested in.
With a bit of practice you begin to mentally isolate them.
As a bass guitarist I tend to zero-in on the bass line first,
the rest of the music becomes secondary.
Unfortunately with pre-recorded cd's you're stuck with what
you've got - you can only tweak the sound.
P.S: Don't apologise for your lack of knowledge - we've all
got to start somewhere.
