I am interested in software that creates the musical score from a file of the music. I have heard of such software but don't know where it can be obtained. I am also interested in software that helps you compose songs.
Quite unfortunately, the descriptions of the various categories of software are written using buzz-words instead of normal English, and I have no idea what most of them are talking about. I compose and play music, but I am not a musical Geek.
Could someone supply a descriptions of these categories without using jargon? I think that a lot of viewers just turn the page when they see this. I almost did, then thought that I might at least try to obtain reasonable descriptions since there seems to be a lot of software indexed.

The best software for creating a printed score from your music is Sibelius.
The only music composition software I know of is Abaltat Muse, it writes music to pictures.
