Prosoniq has announced the immediate availability of sonicWORX Artist, Studio and PowerBundle along with all bundled sonicWORX plug-ins as a free download from the Prosoniq Downloads->Freebies page on http://www.prosoniq.com
sonicWORX is a versatile sound editing program for MacOS 8 and 9 and Classic in OS X up to 10.2.8 which has been discontinued on January 1st, 2004. The software is now obsolete and will no longer be updated or ported over to MacOS X.
"This free download gives our users the chance to upgrade to the latest version of the program without hassle, and free of charge. Many of them are still on older, less powerful Macs running OS 9 in their studios because they have a stable setup that they don't want to change", says Bernhard Bouché, CEO at Prosoniq. "sonicWORX is also of value for people with OS 9 based machines who are still enjoying the superb performance of the Classic MacOS on older Macs, like the G4 series. It is a great program that we had to give up because it didn't pay off in the long run. However, we are considering other ways to market its potential in the course of this year", concludes Bouché.
The download comes with a serial number and complete installation archive for Artist, Studio and the combined PowerBundle package - no previous installation is required.
