I'm trying to figure out how to route the midi instruments' signals to the audio tracks so i can bounce em to wave. I've tried, but no success

A typical scenario would be to arm a track for recording and then use the midi track as the input.

Sooo...
For example, I've got a drum pattern going:
Drums Mapped
Arm that track for recording
hit Record...
it doesn't give me the option to save the recorded file as a Wave file...in fact it simply "records" but it's not saving to any location period.
Ive tried hittin the "In" button instead of "Out" in the matrix edit, but it doesn't do anything...must be a step after this that I'm missing
