New: Samplitude and Sequoia Version 8.1

MAGIX has released a version 8.1 to both Samplitude and Sequoia DAW programs. Surround Sound, Surround Effects and Object Sound (Samplitude Professional only).

Samplitude V8 features a new surround implementation conceptual design,
which meets current and future sound production requirements in music,
broadcasting and post-production. Besides surround support, this
includes a comprehensive surround effect package with multi-channel
enabled equalizers, and dynamics processing tools (Samplitude
Professional only). The real-time, convolution-based room simulator
introduced with Version 7 now features surround capabilities and is
shipped with new impulse responses for stereo und surround application.

Object surround capability allows each audio Object of a Samplitude
project can be positioned in the surround field individually -- ideal
for efficient and creative use in multi-channel music, broadcasting,
film, and radio play productions

File Archive, Object, Track, Range and Marker Managers

A project-orientated Manager set for managing Objects, tracks, Ranges
and markers which was developed in cooperation with professional users
enables efficient managing and archiving, as well as management of all
project contents and data directly from within the work environment. Use
the new File Browser to search for audio material and for quick preview
listening.

MAGIX Analogue Modeling Suite (Samplitude Professional only)

Simulations of classic, analog musical instruments in Samplitude V8
supplement the already available audio effects. This includes an
analog-style compressor with optional simulation of a tape saturation
effect and a transient designer to influence the percussive audio
material envelope.

MAGIX Elastic Audio (Samplitude Professional only)

The pitch of audio data can be edited in a similar flexible manner as
MIDI files. An Editor is provided for this purpose, which combines pitch
automation with pitch recognition routines and for pitch correction of
monophonic audio material. Several algorithms are available for pitch
automation, including resampling. Monophonic audio material can also be
split up into notes of pitch slices. The pitch of each slice can then be
changed individually. Typical applications of this tool, for example, is
for correcting intonations, or creative use to change or correct
melodies, such as creating second vocals. Pitch automation can also be
used to correct polyphone material (e.g. choir and wind instrument
recordings).

MIDI: Drum Editor, Controller Multi-Editor (Samplitude Classic &
Professional only)

The greatly enhanced MIDI tools allow for flexible and creative use of
internal and external synthesis within the program. The advanced MIDI
Editor features a new designed Multi-Editor for simultaneous display and
editing of MIDI control and pitch bend controller data. A new Drum
Editor including a matrix and cell Editor with graphic velocity option
and convenient Drum Map management enable the processing of Drum
Instruments by means of different editing options.

Moving Picture Post-Pro

Synchronization with movie files (AVI videos) has been switched to
DirectShow format. This has considerably enhanced the compatibility with
various video formats. Furthermore, you can now use any DirectShow
compatible hardware (graphics card) to view videos.

Additional features include:

* Improved handling of MIDI data and virtual instruments within the program
* Enhanced Quantization (MIDI)
* Overdub Recording, MIDI Merge, Trim (paste, bounce, etc.)
* MAGIX Robota Pro (Samplitude Professional only): Eight voice, virtual-analog
