I have the experience of dealing with Tascam. You can go on there site and download manuals to use their devices. I have never seen a repair manual on the site, there proably one around.
I have gotten my Pocket 5 fixed by a recommended repair company on the site. They were helpful.. it works better. But the money I spent on Tascam I could have saved and got something better. Think Of that when dealing with tascam! The Four track was great (how can u mess that up?) but the us 224 was great with my Mac ibook, not so good with my PC. So I got a Pocket 5, there are lots of problems still with this unit too. They are unreturnable items like software so Go to some other company. I say spend no more then $70 dollars on something Tascam! |

Dude, multi tracking on cassette tape was great... in 1986.
20 years later these are old machines and have no use to todays musician except as a song writing tool. |

| It was off topic, but I have been a customer of Tascam since 1992. When I brought my 4 track. We all start somewhere. I was not a computer user back then, I played the guitar, and used a effects stomp box and my four track. In my world a four track It was More them most poor people had, so hey .... If you want a laugh, My friend also made some great music back then with a karroke machine from kmart (Wal mart wasn't in these parts yet). Away, They still sell 4 tracks ? Someones buying them. |

I had a Fostex X-15. We made many a 12 track recording :)
Yea, they still sell. Just not much good for a highly mobile working stiff trying to record things on the run. I'll keep my notebook.
I just made some assumptions that prolly weren't true about the use of the machine. It happens. |
