|
|
Hello,
I have acid pro 4.0 and whenever i place a looped drum track to play while i record my guitar the drum beat is somehow transposed to the recording track.......i do not have the speakers on so there will not be any bleed over from the pickups....i have a pair of headphones and listen to the drums while playing/recording....if anyone out there has the answer i would be greatly appreciative!!!!!i have spent hours trying to figure this out....thanks in advance

think about it!! you are using the same record in/ to hear the sounds that you are trying to play over!!i may be wrong!! but i think you need to use 2 lines!! one to recod in to and one to play out!!
the only thing i can suggest is get the loop, make an extended loop, put it on a cd, play the cd and play over the top whist recording it!! if you want to do it the other way, you might find you need a mixing desk!! hardware!!
but then again, i might be wrong, and what i said is a load of crap!! see if anyone can say different!! |

You may check your sound card's mixer - it's accessible double clicking the speaker or mixer icon in your system tray or in your start menu in programs/accesories/entertainment. If you have a Record slider on that mixer window, make sure the drop down menu is checked to 'Line In' and not 'All' or 'What You Hear. If you don't see a record slider, on the menu bar, click Options/Properties and in the new window, click the radio button marked 'Recording' and OK. Then the other window /mixer changes to a bunch of recording sliders and you can check Line In.
Hope this enables muti-track capabilities for you.

Once you do all that stuff that Bob so correctly suggested...put the drum loop in the left side of the mix and the guitar in the right side of the mix(or the other-way-around should you prefer.)
You may most likely be playing AND recording in stereo...which is a no-no using a simple stereo sound card:)
'Course you posted way back in September you may have it all corrected by now. |

Yep...figured it out.....it was in the sound properties actually,,,,,,,,,when you select the recording volume mixer you must disable the microphone volume slider in ordeer to record without bleeding into the loop.....i do apologize for letting this post go for soo long but, been very busy and havent had time to respond,,,thanks everyone for their time!!!
