| I am trying to make some home recordings (guitar) with this software but picking up some problems. To record the first track is no problem but when I record the second track to run in sequence with the first track, when listening to the playback they eventually go out of sync. I have a p4 pc with 1gig of ram so I dont think it is a memory related problem. My second question is, how do you use the synth "Livid"? The help file is not very good on this subject. Any assistance would be appreciated. |

From playing around with magix I remember a little bit but I chose to go to my manual arhives and look for a solution that may help "Media Files not in Sync" should you encounter delays in playing media files in sync wit your digital audio you can adjust the playback by specifying a correction factor 'FX' in the menu "Project", Midi/Video Link...". see the description on the menu option in this manual. O. K. ,Delays while "DIRECT SYNC" with midi studio or midi connection, is this more what your looking for? It is posssible that you get small delays while playback between audio studio and "midi-studio" or "midi connections" if " Direct syncrinization" is active. Shut it off, No Just kidding These delays are a result of an inacurate sampling rate of the sound card, with a program like cakewalk the software gives you the option at the time of instalation and at anytime during a project to check the latency of your audio programming, hardware etc. and it calibrates itself so you dont have tis problem., anyho next step. tyr to find the correct sample rate in music studio, keyword Try this can be a bear with this software. O.K. to compensate for latencies you need to load a large midi ssong in "Evolution" or " Midi- Connections" The duration Ideally being 2min or more. Make a recording of the whole song in music studio as a hard disk project. Open the dialog box "Snap Definition" and set "Fixed bar snap' to the BPM value of the Midi song e.g. 110 ( Beats Per Minute) Set "Units of measure to "Bars ?Beats", activate the grid with the # key, look for a distinctive beat at the end of thesong in the sequencer, e.g. at bar 100, beat 1, Set the cursor to this beat and zoom in music studio untill you see the single beats, now change the sample rate in music studio in 1HZ. steps untill the grid matches the beat Left Toolbar) This will allow you to find the sample rate that your sound card is really playing. Use this rate for recording and playback now! if your soundcard plays now at a wrong sample rate or the driver does not accept the new sample rate, you can calculate the FX factor= new rate (f.e.44080)/ oldrate ( f.e. 44100)=.995. then type in this factor in the sync dialog FX factor and the old rate, e.g. 44100Hz. The same procedure can also be useful to compensate problems with external syncronization in music studio or with Midi/Video link. I used to use it back in the day for messing around with making remixes |
