I know there truly is a lot of anomocity out there but look, I'm not a spiritual healer, I'm not exactly a shoe in, (I know you haven't heard that in yrs.). But look, I love what they do with the ground beats, and the way some of them add more bass and I especially like it when they mix it up expotentially, but we have little, little, little, ones that love it for the same reasons! I know that's no a bad thing, but as they progress if they like what your selling they will learn your language, and I know there's a hell of a lot of truth in it all; but look my brother, if we're truly going to evolve as a society we need to let go of the hatred and the past crimes ago against us as a people and embrace our culture as a people with a willingness to further survive so that our children will not ever again suffer such atrocities. it's just a genre - it's like asking why 12 bar blues singers still "just woke up this morning" or why country singers are still lamenting the death/dissaperance/leaving of their favorite woman/dog/truck

I couldn't have said it any better myself, man. But most of the great rap albums were made a looong time ago, the lyrics and content have actually evolved BACKWARDS!

Here's a list of some good stuff:

Public Enemy
De La Soul
Tribe Called Quest
Early Beastie's
RUN-DMC
Eric B & Rakim
Nas's Debut
KRS-1/BDP
Jungle Brothers
Ultramagnetic MC's
That old Fresh Prince stuff (just for fun)
Biz Markie (another fun one)
ICE-T (if you can get past that pimp image, the guy had a lot to say)
Early Ice Cube (angry? a little bit......but about real issues)

WTF happened to hip-hop? I'm glad I am old enough to have gotten into the good stuff!
