FreeHand Systems, Inc., has released MusicPad Maestro, a 19" TFT resistive touch screen unit providing the conductor a 2-page view. Its innovative touch screen allows the user the ability to make marks and notations right on the page of music, store, change and delete marks as needed. Its back-lit screen eliminates the need for external lighting. A quick touch on the screen or tap on the optional foot pedal and hands-free page turning becomes a reality for the conductor.
The MusicPad Maestro will be available in the US in May 2006 and is also available through Tom Lee Music in Hong Kong and mainland China, Yamano Music in Japan and other FreeHand distributors around the world. "The release of our MusicPad Maestro product now puts FreeHand's products in the forefront of what all orchestras, educators, and groups have been seeking," said Kim Lorz, CEO. "We see the MusicPad Maestro as helping to complete our goal of driving performers in the direction of performances with digital sheet music and eliminating the need for paper."
John Papandria, band director at Ben Davis High School who has been using the Maestro along with MusicPad Pro unit for his entire band says, "The MusicPad Maestro provides great benefits. I now have a large score page to rehearse and I am able organize all of my scores and mark them using different colors to remind me of various aspects of the music. I can write quizzes, prepare vocabulary, download and distribute music all from the same place, my Maestro."
