The world premiere screening of the television pilot trailer for “Treasured Instruments”, starring Rock-n-Roll Hall of Famer John Sebastian of The Lovin’ Spoonful, and Les Paul, the father of the electric guitar and multi-track recording, will be held April 20, 2006 at Austin Community College’s Riverside Campus from 7:30-9:00 p.m.
Dan’l Terry, luthier and local film-maker, wrote, directed and produced the pilot which was shot by legendary music documentarian Albert Maysles (The Beatles First U.S. Tour, and the Rolling Stones Gimme Shelter). Afterwards, Terry will talk about “The legacy of American Guitar Making Today and Tomorrow”.
A factory in Beijing, China, recently approached Terry for the rights to manufacture his innovative guitar line. Four of the prototypes will be showcased, the LaZer, the X-Calibur, the Saturn V Bass, and the Yvette.
A drawing will be held for a “LaZer” guitar serial number L00001 from the production line. All attendees will also receive a link for a free e-book “Dan’ls AX HACKS, The Buzz About Frets: Troubleshooting String Buzz”.

why is this news about a guitar presentation/lecture that includes a premier screening of a new television cable series wtih John Sebastian, & guest Les Paul, plus a preview of a new guitar line with a national contest to win a free Lazer electric guitar buried in a music software category instead of either of the more appropriate guitar news area? This has nothing to do with music software. New guitar designs. Yes. Guitars in the news. Guitar celebrities. Possibly. Software? That's a stretch. Curioser and curiouser.
