I'm digitizing my collection of very old recording (some are 30 yrs old However, all scratches and other damages are perfectely heard on the recorded MP3. Does anybody know a good and not very expersive way to get rid of them? I understand that there are manu very sophisticated (and expensive) editors on market, but since it is going to be a very narrow use for the sofware I would prefer some simple utility that can perform this task |

| A friend told me about the program called Total Recorder that is capable of removing hiss and static. Does anyboady here have any experience with this application? |

Alternatively you can try DePopper available here for a 30-day trial ($18 to buy):

I had an entire library of vinyl that DePopper cleaned of pops, hiss and scratches. And this was classical, which is fussy. |
