This happens when i use Ableton live 5.
when i use asio driver on the input and output of my card i get huge crackles, distortion and the music even starts slowing down. When i use mme/direct x it is fine
system spec
asus p5wd2 premium
p4 3.2 intel
150 gb satta 2
250gb satta 2
RME HDSP 9632
2gb ddr2
my spec is pretty high and audio card is supperb, i dont have really any issues with cubase sx3 or reason 3.0???
has anyone come accross this before?
it happens regardless if i use the stand alone application or rewire, when i get above 6 audio tracks it goes mad. I have no idea how to fix this, i have played about with the buffer size and the output level so that it is not clipping and still no joy.
any help is hugely appreciated.

Since every other application works fine with the ASIO drivers, it sounds to me like the culprit is Ableton Live 5.
The first stop would be their customer support. 2nd stop any Ableton Live user forums. Between these, you should find what may be causing the incompatibility problem.

Mike,
I have experienced the same things with the Emu Proteus X/Emu 0404 combo. It can be caused by the processor being bogged down or a mismatch in the sampling rates. |
