I have had limewire 4.10 for a while now, but it recently started popping up and starting up randomly and when I would close it it would keep doing it. I uninstalled limewire and yet for some reason it still tries to start. I have restarted the computer, scanned for problems and none seem to be working. I get a message as limewire tries to start from a java windows saying "one or more necessary fles appeard to be invalid, This is generally cause by a corrupted installation. Please try downloading and intalling limewire again. If the problem perssts blease copy and paste the following mesage and e-mail it to bugs@limewire.com.
I tried intalling it again but it fails becuase it says there is another version/ limewire is still running, but I uninstalled it. I could not find limewire anywhere on my computer so I checked the task manager to see if it was still running. The task manager suddenly does NOT work now, so I cannot check to see whether or not another limewire is still running somehow.
I e-mailed bugs@limewire only to get a message back saying that my message could not be sent becuase it was invalid or something like that.

Please help as soon as possible.
Thanks

I have LimeWire. I've been having it for months and I have never had a problem with it. When I first downloaded it, it worked just fine. Then I found out a month later that an upgraded version of LimeWire was now in effect. So I uninstalled the Limewire version that I had on my computer, then I installed the updated version. And it still works just fine. I have "Limewire 4.10.5" now.

I don't know what your problem could be. I just downloaded a document from Limewire yesterday. I really don't know what's making it start up randomly on your computer like that. It's never happened to me before.

Try this....Click on "START" on your toolbar at the bottom lefthand side of your screen. Select "SETTINGS"...then select "CONTROL PANEL". In the control panel, double-click on "ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS"...then scroll down in your list of programs and see if you can find "Limewire" anywhere on the list. It shouldn't be hard to find because all of your programs are listed in alphabetical order. If you happen to see "Limewire" in the list, then that means that Limewire is not completely uninstalled from your computer yet. If you see "Limewire" in the list, then click on it, and then click the button that says "add/remove"...and it will uninstall the Limewire program.

I can't believe others have the exact same problems, I too tried everything under the sun, but nothing. I have that annoying, "one or two files..." message, and, "bugs@don't even bother.com", and yes, that Copy & Paste Number. But I also have problems w/ other programs & Internet Explorer is screwed up big time. I recieve Pop-ups constantly, and even while, I'm not connected to the internet. Anyone know what to do, who to ask, how to fix it??? I Tried redownloading limewire and all that stuff...Help Please

well to get rid of this problem: go to search and go to files and document and type in limewire, let it search for the file, once found delete the program and u shoudlnt have any problem after that.
and bearshare is not the best program to deal with, it gets many viruses after you use it for 3 months
i suggest u use ARES

What is that the cut-off date? 3 months and BAM, heres your virus! I figure with any of these peer-2-peer stealing packages...it's just a matter of time and a short time at that.

well that is the regular time in which the person become availible to recieve a virus because it gives you a security program that you never know is on there. after three months of a trial, the program is disabled and then you r able to get viruses very easily.

Wrong answer.

If you are on the same Internet as I am and you are surfing unprotected...that is your fault.

So I'm protected. Even so, if I were to use a p2p network ANYthing that I downloaded is a potential virus package. Anything.

Because people that are involved in this, often but not always, would rather crap your machine out and take much effort and get much pleasure from this kind of reckless behavior.

All you have to do is get on a p2p network, land on someones node or point or whatever they are calling it these days, download the latest pirated movie or software or music, etc...and you running unprotected will be INFECTED :)

It's sort of their way of saying "you shouldn't have been trying to get stolen stuff anyway." Kinda like getting a bad deal from your dope pusher. Who ya gonna call? Who is going to listen?

Have a good one,

Brien

I have been running limewire for a while now, and all of a sudden, every download is infected with Wimad and all sorts of Trojan virus'. Can't download any dammed thing anymore without all the security in xp going off. Anyone know the cure or is it a trap, or is it to suck you in to pay to upgrade to the bloody Pro version ?
