|
Hi,
First post so first hello to everyone, now lets see if you can solve my problem
I manage the music for my wife who is a solo singer and works with backing tracks, at the moment I use a Peavey system and play the music from a cd player (this works fine). I want to update it and play the music off our laptop, I am after (and can't find) software that will do this with two important features.
1. I must be able to load a play list (about 15 songs) and have them waiting in the order I have set them in some sort of file or bin!
2. There must be an auto pause after each song finishes, the next song is loaded and sits there waiting for the play button is pressed.
Many thanks in advance of the help

I don't know of one either and I've spent hours searching but I've been using good ole Winamp for the past 4 years to do exactly what you need.
It's a bit fiddly to set up but dead simple to use on stage.
Set Winamp as the default player and the "enter" button as play.
I presume all your backing tracks are in the same folder so create a new folder for each bracket of songs e.g. bracket one, bracket two etc.
Copy and paste the songs for each bracket into their relevent folder.
Now number the tracks in the order you want them e.g. 01 track title,
02 track title etc.
Now create a shortcut to each folder on the desktop.
Open Winamp then open folder for bracket one and set "view" to "List"
Highlight the first track and press "enter". The track will play and then stop 'cause there's only one track on the list.
Once this track has started you can use the down arrow to highlight the next track. WARNING - don't touch the enter button again until your wife is ready the sing the next song. Repeat until bracket is finished then open folder two. I use this method for individual songs at band rehearsal and on stage for starting background music during breaks - you only need one finger to run it! I hope this helps. |
