hey i need to know the names of any good computer audio editing programs.
im trying to do some simple recording with a few friends of mine but were broke and not up to date with all these new fangled recording gizmos. all our gear was made before 1975 and we are a little confused about how we should go about laying tracks on a computer. help? |

my favorite is n-track because you can use it just like an old tape machine, or you can get into some of the fancier stuff like VSTi. At $75 it's the best value for money IMHO.
If you want free though go to http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/win95/MULTITRACK_RECORDING/ and check out the programs listed as freeware. |

yeah but adobe audition costs nearly $300 more than n-track. if you gonna spend that kind kind of cash then go with Cubase http://www.steinberg.de/Category_sb4bd3-2.html |

Their's Hundreds To Name
But It APeers As Thou You Want a Daw Program w/ Asio Ability
(Multi input) Which Tends To Require OutBoard Gear
But instead Of Throwing of a Bunch Of Names. I suggest
Buying A Copy of Computer Music (magazine).
And Research What Programs sound Right Buy You.
Another Outlet Is Download.com .
This Site Offers Free, Demo and Shareware Programs To Try out.
This is Giving U A Hands On Ability to Make A Decision.

Then again you could try Audacity.
It's free. It records, edits, multitracks.
It also has an envelope function to level the sound.
It's worth a try for zero dollars. |
