Hello. I used to have an SP-1200 and I really got comfortable with sequencing my samples like a drum pattern via step or live to a metronome. I am looking for a software program that can be used to similar effect for layering samples and creating drum patterns.
I found a few programs that do let me import samples and step program beats, but they do not have sample trimming functions so I have to trim my samples in wave pad and then reinsert them to get them timed right. This is very tedious.
I have also found samplers that let you trim and add effects into a sample bank, but have no obvious or intuitive way to sequence them.
Also I am looking for a stand alone program instead of a VST or plugin. I'm not very tech savvy as it is and would like to stick to figuring out and getting used to one piece of soft instead of a host application and a plugin. I only plan on making simple songs and am not interested in advanced VST mechanics just yet.
Can anyone suggest a software Sequencer or drum machine with sample manipulation capabilities similar to an MPC or sp-1200? The simpler the better as I dont really need advanced effects or tuning beyond pitch or time stretch. |
