Hey all,

If anyone is interested who is in a band or is a solo artist who is playing shows, you can now sell your mp3 files at your shows to your audience without a credit card machine, using FanBand Software. You accept cash from your audience. When a new fan purchases your mp3 from your laptop at a show, the mp3 automatically gets sent to them, via the email address they provided. It's actually easier to sell than just selling a CD, because you create a visual display and obtain the fans email address and MySpace URL to keep in touch. Plus, some fans only want to purchase that one really good song you just played at your show, than buy your CD. It's simple enough like creating a MySpace page, and even works at shows where you don't have internet access right in the venue. You can sell your songs for free or for a price, use it strictly as a mailing list, a listening booth, and gather fans email addresses and MySpace links, and can add / message / comment friends from your local MySpace list right from the software. Mass email your fans, keep track of what songs are selling at shows, how many plays, etc. It's like having iTunes right at your show. If interested, check out:

or download the demo version here at:

The link and our secure online store is safe, if you have any questions contact info@fanbandsoftware.com

Thanks!

Please give feedback Very Happy

The zip file you offer installs and then wants a registration number...no help, no pop ups that help only another button to quit.

That it?

Kinda lame.

EDIT:

Figured it out...as usual, some one wants your email address, even for a demo...here is the stuff you folks need to get this demo to work:

Registration #: dem1234-5678-90

User Name: demo
Password: demo

Put the registration number in and press <enter>, then input demo as the user name AND as the password.

Still kinda lame

I'm ready to make an accessment.

You will have trouble getting this product installed into a musical environment, here are my thoughts.

It is clunky and possessive of my computer resources. After just look for 20 minutes or so I was thinking;
My smtp mail server? Are you kidding? So this software is going to log in and send a copy of one song, two songs, a CD to however many sales there are? I bet my ISP will have something to say about me trying to send large files to multiple email addresses.

A few more minutes and I came to this conclusion. I can do with my cellphone what this software wants to do. It is too "tech", I don't know the word I am looking for.

Footnote:
When I was asked to beta AIM a decade or so ago I said it would be of no use in a business environment, and it wasn't ;)
But DAMN it was a wildfire as a personal contact method!

So everything with a grain of salt.

The demo version no longer needs a registration number now. Just install.

I have tested out the email process, and I have sent out over 500 emails in a matter of 8 minutes (no attachments from the software), and never had my ISP shut me down. The limits have been tested. I have sent out 40 mp3s in 15 minutes and never had my ISP shut me down. A new version, will email a download link to the fan's purchase without attaching any mp3 files.

Please try the demo if you are interested. Feedback is appreciated, but please provide constructive criticism.

Other bands I have given to test it out have used it before at shows, and it has been beneficial. I don't want to spam the crap out of any forum, and be annoying, I just want some input.
