Software Description

Neo Reverb is a plugin that uses algorithms based on true stereo IRs.

Instead of going straight Convolution or Algorithm reverb, this plugin combines the best of their features. To achieve this, Sound Magic converted true stereo IRs of specific spaces into algorithms. This allows the plugin to have the dynamics and playability of algorithm reverbs while at the same time having realistic sound reflections.

This plugin features a new model called the Ba gua model, having the ability to generate millions of early reflections and then holding thousands of delay lines for at least 15 seconds. This is a big improvement over the conventional algorithm reverbs that only utilizes early reflections. The obvious downside is it will require more CPU and RAM, but even this issue is minimized by employing ASM programming language instead of the typical C++. Its setup allows Neo Reverb to do 200 times the reverb calculations compared to standard Algorithm reverbs, while staying at around 20% CPU utilization. Sound Magic also addressed the memory issue by employing their Cache Compress and Reallocate Technology, efficiently compressing the thousands of delay lines in real time.

Cascade Stereo is another notable feature which emulates the natural blending process of resonating sound in various spaces such as concert halls. Finally the plugin comes with 40 controls, giving you in depth control over the reverb sound.
