Re: Pro tools free +Hyperprism TDM Demo

TDM plug-ins won't ever work with Protools Free or Protools LE, you need a TDM protools system like Protools|24 or Protools|HD.

TDM plug-ins run off the DSPs on the cards, not on your CPU like RTAS plug-ins do.

DAE error -200

I am using Protools 4.01 for mac and am all of a sudden experiencing a DAE error -200 message. Anyone have any clues as to why this would be happening now when I have changed no software, hardware or opperating systems since I last launched it successfully?

help w/New York Times article

Would like to speak to any user of Pro Tools Free, for NY Times article on less-expensive, entry-level music editing/mixing/recording programs. If interested, please email me your phone number and best time to call.

Congratulations Digidesign!!!

I just want to thank Digidesign for making it possible for up and
comming musicians to try out one of the worlds leading multi
track software systems without having to spend thousands of
dollars up front.

In the long run they'll get more customers by supporting
struggling musicians as more of us will be familiar with a system
we couldn't afford when we're starting out.

Thank you.
Alf.

PS - I have no association with Digidesing.

Re: Congratulations Digidesign!!!

I fully agree with the posting, 'Congratulations Digidesign': i have worked as a pro musician for 15yrs, in many professional studios....most are using Pro Tools at some stage of the recording process...to have a working knowledge of the program is indispensable in making the most of studio time with scant funds....Digidesign deserves all the plaudits it gets, this program is AWESOME much more powerful than Logic or Cubase....and when i can afford it will definitely buy the more powerful versions

I couldn't disagree more! The only reason they are GIVING away their software is because all of us "original customers" can't afford to keep buying up to new systems. Our older hardware went out of date after about two years. Now, Digidesign wants us to put out ANOTHER 5 to 10k to upgrade. I think Digidesign needs to take a lesson from their low priced competitors and quit nickel and diming us to death!

Re: Congratulations Digidesign!!!

What homepage do the Digidesing have?

thanks
