Software Description

The AdLib card is supremely unsuited to generating waveform sound, so the sound may only be slightly better than the internal speaker driver. Like the speaker driver, the AdLib Waveform driver plays exclusively, so Windows will not run programs or respond to the user while sounds are playing. Unlike the internal speaker, you hopefully have your AdLib connected to nicer speakers.

This driver is ONLY a waveform driver. To get MIDI sound from your AdLib, use the AdLib MIDI driver that comes with Windows. They can coexist but you can't play waveform and MIDI sound at the same time.

I am using OPTi930A on WinMe Japanese version.
From installing hardware on control panel, just choose MISCELLANEOUS category,NOT video/sound one.
by doing this,you can install the Win95 driver
to any Win9x system. How does it sound?

Hello i have a friend who lost her sound drivers disk and the listing for her card is Adlib OPL2 under system and sound cards..
What has happened is she lost her mixer or ablility to hear some sounds, and certain music and things..
I am not finding a mixer or control panel for the card on her system. I think someone has lost it .

Waveform driver for Win95?

Is there an AdLib waveform driver for Win95? My sound card
used to work (crappy sound) with the 3.1 driver but it
doesn't anymore. When I try reinstalling it, I get an
error saying it can't install it correctly because it
can't use the resources selected. It tells me to
change those resources in the configuration panel,
under "System" but when I try doing that, I get a
message saying I can't change those resources. I don't understand anything since the card
used to work. Can someone help me?

The only real solution to your problem is to get a better sound card - try the ESS cards, they are less than $40 and come complete with full duplex 16 bit stereo sound and MIDI and they can play both at the same time. Their web site is at <a href="http://www.esstech.com/">www.esstech.com</a>.
