Bidule requires a computer with _good_ OpenGL support. A Pentium-class or G3/G4 computer with 500Mhz should be fine for basic processing but you'll need a more powerful computer if you plan to extensively use the spectral features of Bidule.

Software Description

Bidule is a realtime modular creation studio aimed mainly at artists seeking a new creative environment to experiment with. With Bidule, you create your own live music creation environment, inserting audio and midi devices, ReWire Devices, VST instruments and plugins. Patching them anyway you like, in realtime, while it plays.

Bidule has tons of modules of its own. High level Bidules like:

  • Step Sequencer
  • Loop Player

And also low level building blocks that can be used to create groups, or "macro" modules:

  • Math function
  • FFT using the phase vocoder
  • Bandlimited Oscillators
  • FIR
  • Envelopes
  • Delay line

The power of your computer is the only limit here. You can plug anything into anything, in feedback, from n connections to n connections.

Audio specifications

Also, Bidule features full ASIO support for low latency and 24bit linear audio files read/write, and of course a 32bit float signal path. Sampling Rates are only limited by your drivers! if they do 192kHz... happy for you! :)

On Win32, bidule can use ASIO, DirectSound or MM drivers. It also supports MIDI IN and OUT.
