Software Description

Powerhouse all-in-one multimedia software offering conversion, ripping, editing, recording, burning, playback (including full playlist and full screen video support), and much more. Powerful, yet easy to use audio, video (VCD), and data CD/DVD burning are all fully supported. Other advanced features include video capture, video creation/combining/extraction, video editing, batch video processing, media management, audio merge, MusicID audio recognition, lyrics search, audio tag editing, CDDB/CDDB2/FreeDB support, and more. The audio content of video files can be extracted and saved to sound files, and frames can also be extracted to images files in batch mode. Video files can also be created from still frame images and/or other videos.

Supported conversions include: CD to WAV, MP3, WMA, and OGG; MP3/WMA/OGG/WAV/AIF/VOX/MP2/MPC/G.72x/AU/RAW to MP3/WMA/OGG/WAV; WAV/MP3/WMA/OGG to CD burning, WAV/MP3 Compression, and two-way conversions among MPEG-1, MPEG-2, AVI, WMV, Multi-Page TIFF, and FLIC. MPEG options are available for VCD, SVCD, and DVD compliant output. When converting from audio CD, track information can be dynamically downloaded from the CDDB and used to automatically name saved files.

Video editing is available for AVI (uncompressed), AVI (compressed using any available codec), MPEG-1, MPEG-2, WMV, and ASF. Comprehensive video editing operations are provided (delete frame, delete selection, crop, resize, rotate, mirror, flip, trim, text overlay, adjust audio volume, etc.). In addition, an extensive list of over 30 effects and color adjustment operations allow for powerful video enhancement and alternation. WAV, WMA, and MP3 audio files can be inserted into the video or extracted from the video; and BMP, GIF, JPG, PCX, PNG, RAS, PPM, TGA, and TIF are the supported image formats that can be inserted or extracted. Most video processing operations can also be performed in batch mode on a list of video files using the software's Batch Video Processor

Re: Converting Mpga to mp3's

: what are Mpga files and is there a program out there to convert these things to mp3's? They play fine, but I can't burn the damn things. I always thought .mpeg's were .mp3 files...

Re: Converting Mpga to mp3's-THE ONE AND ONLY SOLUTION

First you need to open the mpga-file in the program movie maker (standard in windows). There you save the file as a WMA-file. This file can be read by most convertors. Using a convertor you can then change the file into an mp3.
Then all you have to do is burn the mp3 to a cd, using an audio-cd-maker-tool.
This works just great, you shall see.

Re: Converting Mpga to mp3's

: you said rename it how?

Renaming is a little complicated, but can be done from DOS. Fir instance lets say I have a file called "strangersin the night.mpga" in a folder called "temp"...go to start...programs..ect and find the DOS prompt icon..click..voila you are in DOS..it should read...

C:\WINDOWS>
Now type
cd\temp (hit enter) should read...

C:\TEMP>
Now type
DIR (hit enter) this will read all the files in that folder, including the mpga file, which in this case would read
strang~1.mpg
Now type
rename strang~1.mpg strang~1.mp3
note that there is a space betweenstrang~1.mp3 and strang~1.mp3
also in DOS you can only rename up to 8 characters(strang~1) and 3 characters for the extension(mp3) of course don't forget the . Strang~1.mp3
or whatever you want to rename it. Don't worry about the short name, you can rename it to up to 72 characters after you exit back to Windows.
next type
exit (hit enter)
and you are done!

Re: Converting Mpga to mp3's

Forget about renaming, use microsoft Movie Player.
import the mpga, put it on an empty movieboard. then go to 'file'- 'Save Movie'- in the setting box select other.., then choose cd quality audio from the next list and save it. it gets saved as WMA but you can then convert it to mp3.

Hope this helps

renaming works:) juse rename from mpga to mp3

Re: Converting Mpga to mp3's

First make sure that your Windows Explorer shows the Extensions. To do that, open the Windows Explorer, then choose Tools -->Folder Options. Choose the View Tab, Now uncheck - "Hide extensions of known file types"

Now you can see the extensions, then you know it -rename the file.

Shyam
